ISO Rating

The ISO rating is based on a inspection by the North Carolina Department of Insurance. The inspection measures the ability of the fire department to respond to structure fires in its response district. This insurance rating is important because it affects the cost of fire protection insurance paid by the property owner. The lower of a rating that is earned by the Fire Department results in discounted premiums on the cost of insurance.

Cleveland Fire Department is very proud to have earned an ISO rating of 2/9. Structures that are within 5 miles of either of our fire stations have a rating of 2. This includes the majority of our fire district. A small part of our response district is beyond a 5 mile range and have a rating of 9.
